LIVRE HERMANA - Center for Studies, Research and Extension on Latin American and Brazilian Social Formation

Coordinated by professor Claudio Henrique Miranda Horst, the group arises from the dialogue between professors of the social service course at UFOP, about the need to develop studies and research on one of the core foundations of the curricular guidelines drawn up by ABEPSS in 1996. Articulated with the others foundation nuclei, this group aims to develop studies and research on the particularity of Latin American and Brazilian social formation, guided by critical and historical-dialectical apprehension, having as its axes work, social issues, social struggles and social service are central. In addition to these studies, the group carries out training activities and scientific events for undergraduate students and professors of the UFOP Social Service course, as well as for the community in general. In developing its activities, it seeks to establish partnerships with other groups, social movements and unions.
